Safety is everyone's business.

Motor vehicle incidents, including driving-related fatalities, are one of the most pressing safety issues across the oil and gas industry. In an effort to decrease motor vehicle incidents and raise awareness, Encana formed a Drive Safe team focused on safety initiatives related to safe driving. The Drive Safe team provides tools and training such as a Drive Safe DVD, Driver Training and a Drive Safe website.

Encana also has a Driver Distraction practice. This practice prohibits the use of communication devices (such as cell phones, both hand held and hands-free as well as texting) while driving either a company vehicle or a personal/rental vehicle on company business. The Drive Safe team plans to continue to provide driving related safety information, data and programs to staff, contractors, service providers, and the public.

We all have a responsibility to our families and friends to drive safely and return home safely.
