Corporate Knights’ Best 50 Corporate Citizens

Encana recognized among Corporate Knights’ Best 50 Corporate Citizens

Encana has been recognized for its corporate responsibility performance in the Corporate Knights Magazine’s 2011 Best 50 Corporate Citizens in Canada. Encana was ranked among the top energy producers and 15th overall. Encana moved up the list from 2010 when it was ranked 39th overall. Encana was one of only two oil and natural gas producers to crack the top 20 in 2011.

Encana was also ranked the top Canadian company and 12th overall on the Corporate Knights’ Global 100 Most Sustainable Corporations in the World list, released in January 2011.

The Best 50 Corporate Citizens is determined using a list of measures evaluating performance in the areas of environmental, social responsibility and governance. Scores are based on indicators such as energy and water productivity, sustainable development and lost-time incidents. Commitment to transparent reporting also plays a role in the rankings.
