Encana awarded Bronze Class distinction by Sustainable Asset Management

Encana was recently awarded a Bronze Class distinction honour by Sustainable Asset Management (SAM) demonstrating leadership in sustainability. We are the only North American company to be recognized with a class distinction for our 2009 operations under the category of ‘Oil & Gas Producers’ in SAM's 2010 Sustainability Yearbook.

Founded in 1995, SAM is an independent asset management company specializing in sustainability investments. In 1999, SAM partnered with Dow Jones Indexes to launch the family of Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI). The 2,500 largest companies in the world, as ranked by DJSI, are invited to participate in SAM’s annual Corporate Sustainability Assessment.

SAM’s annual Sustainability Yearbook is considered the world’s most comprehensive publication for sustainability trends and only the top 15 percent of the 57 SAM sectors qualify for inclusion in the book. This is the second year in a row Encana has been awarded a SAM class distinction.
